POSITION SUMMARY

Provide process engineering support to the manufacturing areas that will provide Sony DADC with the systems tools and technological support that addresses quality improvement, operating cost reduction, yield increase, downtime reduction, and introducing new technologies.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

-Prioritize and complete process engineering projects by the critical deadlines to ensure annually planned and strategic goals are met.

-Conceive, develop, and carry out projects that will improve quality, reduce operating costs, increase yield and reduce downtime.

-Design new equipment and machinery as conceived to support the in-house needs of both production and process engineering.

-Conceptualize, source, evaluate, qualify, test, and install purchased equipment.

-Modify and/or integrate existing equipment in order to improve processes in a manner consistent with the business needs of Sony DADC.

-Introduce cost effective current and new technologies into the manufacturing process.

-Provide technical direction and training to the technician staff.

-Develop and test components, equipment, materials, product, and systems, applying principles and techniques of electrical, mechanical, chemical, and/or industrial engineering.

-Test new components and materials as requested by Marketing, Business Units, QA, Purchasing, or other groups in order to ensure Sony DADC meets the demands of the market.

-Establish spare parts requirements on new and existing process equipment.

-Develop product and process standards, not only for Sony DADC, but the optical media industry as well.

-Monitor and analyze the key performance parameters.

-Identify areas in which improvement would be optimally beneficial to Sony DADC and determine the impact of successful implementation.

-Implement solutions that satisfy the key improvement criteria.

-Understand and apply Sony DADC's requirements for quality, environmental management, health and safety management, Kaizen, K.P.I.s and Six Sigma.

-Apply analytical, evaluative, and constructive expertise to solve critical process problems.

-Prioritize and manage several concurrent projects.



Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related area.

-Experience in Plastics required

-Demonstrated competence in the following areas

-Organizational skills.

-Troubleshooting skills.

-Communication skills (both written and oral).

-Process improvement and design skills.

-Decision making skills.

-Project management skills
