Are you looking for a long term opportunity where you can utilize your excellent planning, implementation and communication abilities? The ideal candidate will recommend and implement improvements to production processes and then make changes to perfect the process, while working closely with the design team. Must be able to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

Manufacturing Process Design

" Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes from technical data (CAD drawings or other engineering specs and BOM) through product launch, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

" Source and design tooling and equipment.

" Coordinates prototype builds

" Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of assembly lines and equipment.

Manufacturing Product Launch

" Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.

" Develop Takt time standards on new and existing products.

" Create and maintain PFMEA for new and existing programs.

" Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

" Prepares and presents plans for manufacturing processes/assembly lines and coordinates deployment and implementation, including training of team members.

Manufacturing Process Improvement

" Utilizes Six Sigma or Kaizen methodology to improve processes, reduce costs.

" Error proof manufacturing processes for increased quality and safety.

" Manages and improves work center up time/safety of all manufacturing processes in the business unit.

" Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency

Project Management

" Develop manufacturing (RFQs), request for quote.

" Track all major projects and adhere to submitted timelines & budgets.

" Coordinate and allocate resources

" Makes effective and efficient decisions.

Customer service

" Work closely with internal and external suppliers for completion of these projects as required.

" Respond to customer issues which may include the development and implementation of design changes, travel to customer/supplier locations, and participation in the 8D problem solving process.

" Provide technical information concerning processing, materials and performance of existing products.

" Process customer returns according to established department policies and procedures.

Communication

" Uses proper grammar and spelling in written and verbal communications.

" Manages conflict and creative tension with diplomacy and grace.

" Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.

" Adapts communication for technical and non-technical audiences

" Articulates technical information to non-technical audiences clearly

" Actively listens to customers to translate requirements into results

Working Conditions:

" Semi-private office

o Uses PC and keyboard frequently

" Plant Environment

o Stands, walks and moves about facility freely

o Bends, stoops, reaches, squats to view production lines and equipment

o Exposure to noise between 85-89 decibels in some areas (wears hearing protection)

o Wears safety glasses or other PPE

o Exposure to weld fumes

o Exposure to variation in temperature in climate controlled plant

o Lifts and carries production equipment, tooling and product

Requirements:
" Incumbent will posses a Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university.

" Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

" Prior experience in a Leadership role preferred.

- Experience with robotic welding preferred.

- Customer and vendor experience preferred

- Project management experiences a plus.

- 2-5 years automotive engineering preferred.

- Experience with SDRC, © EAS, and Autocad.
