Description:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work in a state of the art, world class facility. This individual will be supervising, problem solving as well as developing and testing new products! This candidate must have experience working in an automotive safety environment and meet the following criteria:
- Design, develop, test and release seating products
- Record and create technical requirement documents
- Work with model shop and suppliers to assemble prototype seats
- Utilize DFMEA's to lead development process
- Develop and execute test and validation plans
- Interact with customers to qualify and release product
- Conduct regular design reviews and peer reviews
- Lead problem-solving and continuous-improvement activities
- Manage Bill Of Materials
- Work with Purchasing to identify and source suppliers
- Interface with Manufacturing Engineering to develop production processes/controls
- Delegate and prioritize work as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Minimum 5 years of seating product development experience
- Knowledge of seating structure and soft-goods
- Proficient in 3D modeling preferred
- Strong problem solving skills - Six Sigma preferred
- Proficient in GD&T and Tolerance Stack Analysis
- Experience using DFMEA's to drive design and validation requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience as a team-lead required; supervisory experience preferred
